Yabalkovets is a mountain village situated in the Ardino Municipality within the Kardzhali Province of southern-central Bulgaria. It is located approximately 199.97 kilometres from the capital city of Sofia and lies about 16 kilometres northeast of the municipal town of Ardino by road.
The village covers a total area of 11.232 square kilometres and is bordered to the southeast by the settlement of Chubrika. As of 2013, Yabalkovets had a recorded population of 204 residents.
