Vratsa is the largest city in northwestern Bulgaria. It serves as the administrative and economic center for both the Vratsa municipality and the Vratsa district.
Geographically, the city is located approximately 112 km (70 mi) north of the capital city, Sofia, and about 40 km (25 mi) southeast of Montana.
