Sofia is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria. It is located in the western part of the country within the Sofia Valley, situated at the foot of the Vitosha mountain.
The city is built west of the Iskar river and features numerous mineral springs, including the Sofia Central Mineral Baths. The region experiences a humid continental climate.
