Burgas, also transliterated as Bourgas, is a major city located in the region of Northern Thrace on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. It serves as the capital of Burgas Province and ranks as the fourth-largest city in Bulgaria, following Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna.

The city has a population of 210,382 inhabitants, with an urban area housing 225,945 people. It is recognized as a significant industrial, transport, cultural, and tourist center for the region.
