Koudougou

Burkina Faso

Koudougou is a city located in the Boulkiemdé Province of Burkina Faso. It is situated approximately 75 kilometres west of the national capital, Ouagadougou. As of 2019, the city had a population of 160,239, making it the third most populous city in the country following Bobo Dioulasso and Ouagadougou.

The city is primarily inhabited by the Gurunsi and Mossi ethnic groups. It serves as an administrative and educational hub, housing provincial government offices and a university. Additionally, Koudougou is notable for being situated on Burkina Faso's only railway line and features a local market and several small industries.
