Tenkodogo is a town located in southeastern Burkina Faso. It serves as the capital city for both the Boulgou Province and the Centre-Est Region, with a recorded population of 61,936 as of 2019.
The name Tenkodogo translates literally to "ancient-land." Historically, it served as the capital of the Tenkodogo Bissa-Mossi origin. Founded circa 1100, the site is considered to be the root of all other Mossi Kingdoms.
