Bittou is a town situated in south-eastern Burkina Faso. It serves as the administrative seat of the Bittou Department within the Boulgou Province.
Historically, the town functioned as a stop on an established caravan trading route. In 1898, the French Colonial Army constructed a fort in the area to prevent the British Colonial Army from capturing it. Today, Bittou is located along the N16 Road, which provides a transport link between Burkina Faso, northern Togo, and Ghana.
