Banfora is a city located in southwestern Burkina Faso. It serves as the capital of the Comoe province and holds a population of 117,452, making it the sixth most populous city in the country.
The city is situated on the Abidjan–Ouagadougou railway, approximately 85 kilometres southwest of Bobo-Dioulasso. A notable geographical feature near Banfora is the Cascades de Karfiguéla, which is a series of waterfalls located in close proximity to the city.
