Zottegem is a municipality and city located in the province of East Flanders within the Flanders region of Belgium. The municipality covers a total area of 56.66 km² and had a recorded population of 26,373 as of January 1, 2018.
The administrative boundaries of Zottegem include the town of Zottegem proper along with several surrounding villages: Elene, Erwetegem, Godveerdegem, Grotenberge, Leeuwergem, Oombergen, Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove, Sint-Maria-Oudenhove, Strijpen, and Velzeke-Ruddershove. The area maintains a population density of approximately 470 inhabitants per km².
