Assebroek is a sub-municipality located within the city of Bruges in the province of West Flanders, situated in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It functioned as an independent municipality until it was merged into the city of Bruges on January 1, 1971.
The area currently houses approximately 16.75% of the total population of Bruges. As of December 31, 2014, the population of Assebroek stood at 19,737 inhabitants, a figure that has remained relatively stable since 1999.
