Ixelles, also known as Elsene, is one of the 19 municipalities located within the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium. It is situated to the south-east of the city center of Brussels.
The municipality is geographically bisected by the City of Brussels. It shares borders with several other surrounding municipalities, including Auderghem, Etterbeek, Forest, Uccle, Saint-Gilles, and Watermael-Boitsfort.
