Brussels, officially known as the Brussels-Capital Region, is a region in Belgium that serves as the country's capital. It is situated in the central portion of the nation and comprises 19 municipalities, including the City of Brussels.
The region is unique in its administrative status, forming part of both the French Community of Belgium and the Flemish Community. Geographically, it functions as an enclave within the Flemish Region (Flanders) and is located less than 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) north of the Walloon Region (Wallonia).
