Kaukhali is a small town located in the Pirojpur District within the Barisal Division of southwestern Bangladesh. It serves as the mother town of the Kaukhali Upazila.
The town's primary communication infrastructure relies on roads and rivers, with particular importance placed on the Sandhya river. Notable historical features include a launch and steamer station dating back to the British period. Additionally, the Gabkhan Channel originates from Kaukhali near the village of Ashoa, serving as a significant waterway for ships traveling between the Mongla seaport and Dhaka.
