Gaibandha is a municipal town and the district headquarters of the Gaibandha District, located in northern Bangladesh. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Rangpur Division.
The city serves as a primary center for commerce and trade within the Gaibandha District. It covers an area of approximately 10.54 square kilometres (4.07 sq mi) and is situated to the south of the neighboring city of Rangpur.
