Patuakhali

Patuakhali is a town and the administrative headquarters of the Patuakhali District in Bangladesh. It is situated on the southern bank of the Laukathi River within the Barisal Division. As one of the oldest municipalities in the country, the Patuakhali municipality was officially established in 1892.

The town covers a total area of 27.03 km2 and had a recorded population of 65,000 according to the 2011 census. It serves as a primary urban center for its surrounding district.
