Puthia is a city located in Bangladesh, specifically within the Rajshahi District. It is primarily known for housing the Puthia Temple Complex, which features the largest number of historic temples in the country.
The complex consists of notable old Hindu temples built by the Hindu Zamindars Rajas of the Puthia Raj family, who were prominent philanthropists in the region. These structures are constructed using terracotta and exhibit a variety of architectural styles, most notably the Jor-bangla style combined with other influences. The site also includes the Rajbari (the Palace of the Raja of Puthia) and the Dol Mancha.
The temples are situated around a lake known as Shyam Sagar, while the entire complex is surrounded by a moat called Shiv Sagar.
