Gazipur is an industrial city located in central Bangladesh within the Gazipur District of the Dhaka Division. Situated approximately 25 km (16 mi) north of the capital, it is considered a key component of the Greater Dhaka metropolitan area.
The city serves as a primary hub for the country's textile industry. It is home to 75% of all garment industries in Bangladesh, establishing its significance as a major center for manufacturing and industrial production.
