Bridgetown is the capital and largest city of Barbados. Located within the parish of Saint Michael, it was formerly known as The Town of Saint Michael. While it is sometimes locally referred to as "The City," the most common local reference for the area is simply "Town."
As of 2014, the metropolitan population of Bridgetown stands at approximately 110,000 residents.
