Sokolac is a town and municipality located within the city of Istočno Sarajevo in the Republika Srpska entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It serves as a local administrative center for its surrounding region.
As of 2013, the municipality has a total population of 12,021 inhabitants. The town of Sokolac itself accounts for approximately 5,919 of those residents.
