Banja Luka, also known as Banjaluka, is the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It serves as the most populous city in Republika Srpska and functions as the entity's primary economic, political, and administrative center.
Located in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, the city is the traditional center of the densely forested Bosanska Krajina region. According to the 2013 census, the city proper had a population of 138,963, while its broader administrative area contained a total of 185,042 inhabitants.
