Livno is a town located in Bosnia and Herzegovina that serves as the administrative center of Canton 10 within the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated on the river Bistrica at the southeastern edge of the Livno Field, positioned at the foot of the Kruzi plateau beneath the Cincar mountain and the rocky hill Crvenice. The town primarily covers the historical and geographical region of Tropolje.
First mentioned in 892, the town developed as a crossroads between the Adriatic coast and inland regions, including Bosnia, Dalmatia, Herzegovina, and Krajina. It features an old city dating back to the 9th century along with various historic ruins. As of 2013, the population of Livno was recorded at 37,487 inhabitants.
