Hajigabul is the capital and largest city of the Hajigabul District in Azerbaijan. It is situated in the eastern part of the country within the Shirvan-Salyan Economic Region.
The district surrounding the city borders several other administrative areas, including Kurdamir, Agsu, Shamakhi, Gobustan, Absheron, Baku, Salyan, Sabirabad, and the city of Shirvan. As of 2020, the population of the Hajigabul District was recorded at 76,600.
