Goychay is the capital and largest city of the Goychay District in Azerbaijan. Located in the central part of the country, it is situated within the Central Aran Economic Region. The district surrounding the city borders Agdash, Qabala, Ismayilli, Kurdamir, and Ujar.
The region is primarily recognized for its pomegranate growing industry. It is also well known for hosting a dedicated pomegranate festival to celebrate this local agricultural specialty.
