Maştağa is a settlement and municipality located within the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. It currently has a population of approximately 42,196 residents.
According to popular historical manuscripts, the inhabitants of the village are considered descendants of an ancient nomadic Turkish tribe. This tribe reportedly defeated Cyrus the Great before settling in Baku during the 5th-6th centuries.
