Waikerie is a rural town located in the Riverland region of South Australia. Situated on the south bank of the Murray River, the town had a population of 1,670 as recorded in the 2021 census.
The area is primarily known for its agricultural production, specifically the growing of citrus, stone fruit, and grapes. Infrastructure features include the Sturt Highway, which passes to the south of the town at the top of the cliffs, and a cable ferry that provides vehicle access across the river from the north side.
