Port Macquarie, often referred to as Port Mac or simply Port, is a coastal city located on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on the Tasman Sea coast at the mouth of the Hastings River and serves as the eastern terminus of the Oxley Highway (B56). The city is positioned approximately 390 km north of Sydney and 570 km south of Brisbane.
The population of Port Macquarie was recorded at 47,974 in 2018, with an estimated increase to 51,965 by 2023. It serves as a regional hub within the New South Wales coastal region.
