Ottakring is the 16th district located within the city of Vienna, Austria. Geographically, it is situated west of the central districts, positioned north of Penzing and south of Hernals.
The district was formed in 1892 through the merger of the independent villages of Ottakring and Neulerchenfeld. It is characterized by heavily populated urban areas featuring a high density of residential buildings.
