Caleta Olivia is a coastal city situated in the northeastern part of the Argentine province of Santa Cruz. It is located on the San Jorge Gulf along the Atlantic Ocean.
The city serves as a significant urban center within the region, ranking as the second most important city in the province after Rio Gallegos. It also holds the distinction of being the most populated municipality in the Deseado Department.
According to the 2022 census conducted by INDEC, Caleta Olivia had a population of 56,310 residents.
