Villa Mercedes is a city located in the province of San Luis, Argentina. Situated in the center-east region of the province, it sits on the left-hand banks of the Quinto River. The city is positioned approximately 32 km from the border with the Córdoba province.
The city serves as a transportation hub, located near the intersection of National Routes 8 and 7. It lies along National Route 148, while National Route 7 provides a direct link to the provincial capital, San Luis, which is situated 90 km to the north-west. According to the 2001 census conducted by INDEC, Villa Mercedes had a population of 96,781 inhabitants.
