Oberá is a city located in the interfluvial province of Misiones, Argentina. Formerly known as Villa Svea, it serves as the head town of the Oberá Department. The city is situated approximately 96 km east of the provincial capital, Posadas, along National Route 14, and lies about 1,150 km north of Buenos Aires.
According to the 2010 census conducted by INDEC, the city has a population of 63,960 inhabitants. It remains a primary administrative and geographic center within its region of Misiones.
