Trelew is a city located in the eastern part of the Chubut Province in Argentina. Situated in the Patagonia region, it lies approximately 21 kilometers inland from the coast.
The city serves as the largest and most populous urban center in the low valley of the Chubut River. As of the 2010 census, Trelew had a population of 97,915 inhabitants.
Administratively, the Trelew municipality is part of the Rawson Department. The department's capital is Rawson, which also serves as the provincial capital.
