Punta Alta is a city located in the Buenos Aires region of Argentina. Situated approximately 25 kilometers southeast of Bahía Blanca, it serves as the capital, or cabecera, of the Coronel Rosales Partido.
The city was founded on July 2, 1898. As of recent data, Punta Alta has a population of 57,293 residents.
