Mawson Station, commonly referred to as Mawson, is one of three permanent research outposts and bases in Antarctica maintained by the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD). Located in Holme Bay in Mac. Robertson Land, East Antarctica, it sits within the Australian Antarctic Territory.
Established in 1954, Mawson is Australia's oldest Antarctic station and holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously inhabited station south of the Antarctic Circle. The facility accommodates approximately 20 personnel during the winter season and can house up to 53 people during the summer months.
