González Videla Base is an inactive research station located on the Antarctic mainland at Waterboat Point in Paradise Bay. It serves as a site of historical significance for Chile, named after President Gabriel González Videla, who became the first head of state from any nation to visit Antarctica during the 1940s.
The station was primarily active between 1951 and 1958, with a brief period of reopening in the early 1980s. While it no longer functions as a permanent research facility, the site continues to receive occasional summer visits from tourists and Chilean parties.
