Luanda is the capital and largest city of Angola, serving as the nation's primary port and its major industrial, cultural, and urban center. Situated on the northern Atlantic coast, it functions as the administrative hub for the country and serves as the capital of the Luanda Province.

The city and its metropolitan area represent the most populous Portuguese-speaking national capital globally and are the largest Lusophone city outside of Brazil. As of 2024, the population of Luanda has reached more than 8.8 million inhabitants.
