Volcán Chingo is a stratovolcano located on the border between Guatemala and El Salvador. It serves as the highest point along this international boundary, reaching an elevation of 5,823 feet. The volcano is also recognized as the second highest peak within a group of volcanoes situated in the southeastern region of Guatemala.
The volcano is currently classified as active, although there are no documented historical eruptions on record. It is identified by the Smithsonian Institution with the volcano number 342170. The population residing within a 30-kilometer radius of Volcán Chingo is estimated to be approximately 867,678 people.
