Caála is a town and municipality located in Angola, situated approximately 23 km west of the city of Huambo within the namesake province. According to the 2014 census, the town has a population of 130,000, while the broader municipality has a population of 279,792.
During the period when Angola was a Portuguese colony, the settlement was known as Vila Robert Williams. This name was chosen in honor of Sir Robert Williams, who was a mining magnate and railroad developer.
