Tashir is a town and urban municipal community situated in the northern region of Armenia within the Lori Province. It is positioned approximately 42 km (26 mi) north of Vanadzor, which serves as the provincial center, and roughly 154 km (96 mi) north of the national capital, Yerevan.
As of the official estimate in January 2023, the population of Tashir was approximately 7,300 residents. The town functions as a primary administrative and residential hub within its local municipal community.
