Abovyan, also known as Abovian, is a town and urban municipal community located in Armenia. It is situated within the Kotayk Province, positioned approximately 16 kilometres northeast of the capital city, Yerevan, and 32 kilometres southeast of Hrazdan, which serves as the province centre.
According to the 2022 census, the town has a population of 46,434 residents. It functions as an urban community within its administrative region.
