Gavar

Armenia

Gavar is a town located in Armenia that serves as the administrative center for both the Gavar Municipality and the Gegharkunik Province. It is situated at an average height of 1,982 meters above sea level, positioned among the high mountains of the Gegham range to the west of Lake Sevan.

The town is located approximately 98 kilometers east of Armenia's capital, Yerevan. According to census data, the population of Gavar was 20,765 in 2011 and decreased to 17,741 by 2022.
