Vedi is a city and urban municipal community located in the Ararat Province of Armenia. It is situated along the Vedi River, positioned approximately 35 kilometres south of the capital city, Yerevan, and 18 kilometres southeast of Artashat, which serves as the provincial centre.
The town's population has remained relatively stable over recent years. According to census data, the population was recorded at 11,384 in 2011, with an official estimate of around 10,600 in 2016, and a subsequent count of 11,066 in 2022.
