Ashtarak is a town located in the Ashtarak Municipality of Armenia's Aragatsotn Province. It is situated on the left bank of the Kasagh River along its gorge, approximately 20 km northwest of the national capital, Yerevan.
The town serves as the administrative center of the Aragatsotn Province. Additionally, it functions as a significant transportation hub, acting as an important crossroad for routes connecting Yerevan, Gyumri, and Vanadzor.
