Finiq

Albania

Finiq is a settlement and municipality located in southern Albania within Vlorë County. It is situated approximately 8 km from the Ionian Sea and 20 km north of the Greek border. The municipality covers a total area of 444.28 km² and has a population of 10,529 residents.

The current administrative boundaries were established during the 2015 local government reform through the merger of five former communes: Aliko, Dhivër, Livadhja, Mesopotam, and Finiq. The village of Dërmish serves as the seat of the municipality.

Finiq is notable for its demographic composition, as it is inhabited primarily by ethnic Greeks. It is one of only two municipalities in Albania where Greeks form a majority, the other being Dropull.
