Peqin is a town and municipality located in Elbasan County in central Albania. It serves as the administrative seat for its namesake municipality, which covers a total area of 197.90 km2.
The current municipality was established during the 2015 local government reform through the merger of six former municipalities: Gjoçaj, Karinë, Pajovë, Peqin, Përparim, and Shezë. According to the 2023 census, the total population of the municipality is 16,580, while the specific municipal unit of Peqin has a population of 4,753.
