Shijak is a town and the seat of a municipality located in Durrës County in west-central Albania. It serves as the administrative center for a municipal area covering a total land area of 92.24 km2.
The current municipality was established during the 2015 local government reform through the merger of four former municipalities: Gjepalaj, Maminas, Shijak, and Xhafzotaj, which now function as municipal units. As of recent data, the total population of the municipality is 27,861.
