Parun, also known as Paroon, is a town located in eastern Afghanistan. Historically, the settlement has been referred to by the names Prasun and Prasungul.
The town serves as the capital of Nuristan Province and falls within the jurisdiction of the Parun District. It has an estimated population of approximately 11,563 people.
