Spera is a village and the administrative district center of the Spera District in Khost Province, Afghanistan. Situated at an altitude of 1,790 meters, it is located at the geographical coordinates 33.2022°N 69.5161°E.
The town is situated within the heartland of the Zadran tribe of Pashtuns. Historically, during the United States occupation of Afghanistan, Spera served as a significant location along a frequently used smuggling route connecting Pakistan to Afghanistan. The region was also noted for harboring former members of both Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
