Khost is a city located in eastern Afghanistan. It serves as the capital of Khost Province and falls within the jurisdiction of the Khost District.
The city has an estimated population of 170,615 people. It is recognized as the largest city in the southeastern part of the country, as well as the largest city in the Loya Paktia region.
