Chimtal District, also known as Chemtal or Chamtal, is a district situated in the western region of Balkh province in Afghanistan. The administrative center and capital of the district is the city of Chimtal.
As of 2004, the estimated population of the district was approximately 81,311 people. The demographic makeup of the area is characterized by a predominant Hazara population.
