Taloqan, also referred to as Taleqan or Taluqan, is a city located in northern Afghanistan. It serves as the capital of Takhar Province and falls within the jurisdiction of the Taloqan District.
The city has an estimated population of 284,990 people. The ethnic composition of the population includes Tajiks, Uzbeks, Pashtuns, and Hazaras.
